"THE VICTORY DAY"

Introduction : Freedom is the birthright of a man. Everyman has an inherent instinct to live a free life in a free country. If is because he can express himself well, discover his latent faculțies fully and stand upright with an undaunted spirit in a free country. However, 16 December is our victory day. It is the day of emancipation from the shackled life of long 25 years under the brutal rulers of West Pakistan. 

How observed : The Victory Day is a colourful Introduction  : Freedom is the birthright of a man. Everyman day of the most memorable days of Bangladesh. We observe the da with great honour, jubilation and patriotic zeal. This day is a public holiday. Our national flag is kept flying on the top of private and public houses, offices and educational institutions. We offer floral wreaths at the victory monuments. Govt. offices and buildings are decorated and illuminated on this day. Various social and cultural prógrammes are held throughout the countrY past, of the Defence Forces. Various The President or the Prime Minister the receives the salute in theatre groups hold street drama containing the themes of the liberation war. Some film clubs show films made on the liberation war. Bangladesh Postal Department releases new stamps. Children and student organizations bring out colourful 'processions carrying placards and posters. Painting exhibitions by children are held. Games and sports are held the country. Special prayers are offered for the martyrs in across all mosques, temples and churches of the country. As the evening sets in, the air is filled with patriotic songs of the liberation war. People of all walks of life attend these programmes with great joy and enthusiasm, The whole atmosphere remains jubilant throughout the day.

Significance of the day : It is needless to speak of the significance of the victory day in our life. We had to suffer deadly for long for lack of freedom and live quite a sub-human life. We had no other alternative than to fight out the oppressors from the land, We rose up and shattered the shackles of slavery and won victory on the 16 December, 1971. This victory is undoubtedly a landlide event in our national history. This day is not merely a day of yearly calendar. It is a day of, great thrill. It is a day of great sensation. It is a day of crowning glory of an oppressed nation. It is a day of great victory-a victory of Justice over injustice, truth over falsehood, light. over darkness, freedom over slavery and humanity over inhumanity. It is a day of learning the lessons that the will of people prevails for man is born to be free and that the weapons of freedom need not be very big and that the oppressors will always be defeated and that eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. 

Conclusion : Bangladesh is our pride, our dream, our life-blood and our victory day is our greatest achievement as a nation. We have got a flag, a country and an identity through this victory day. But it is a matter of great sorrow that though we have gọt political freedom, we have not yet been able to achieve economic freedom. This is why we must take an oath on this day to make our country independent in all respects. It is only then that our victory will be achieved in the truest sense of the term. Let us pledge to our beloved motherland.

  'A VILLAGE DOCTOR'   Introduction : A village doctor is a most familiar figure in village. He renders a very valuable service to the the ill-fed, ill- td, ill-healthed and ill-housed village people.  His qualification : A village doctor is generally a quack. He now passes for a doctor after modern fashion. A village doctor works with a qualified doctor for few years and receive raining under him. Then he comes to his native village and begins practising as doctor.  His dispensary : A village doctor opens his dispensary either in the parlour of his house or in a room in the village market. He has in his dispensary a table, a chair, one or two almirah with a small stock of medicine and one or two benches for his patients. He does not take the service of a compounder. "The Victory Day" The 16th December is a red letter day in the history of Bangladesh. On this day, we won victory at the cost of a bloody battle of nine months . We celebrated the last 'Victory Day' in our institute very gorgeously. Our teachers cordially helped us in the arrangement. On the 15th December, we decorated every corner of the institute compound with green leaves, festoons and coloured papers. Adequate seating arrangements were made for the teachers and students. Under the guidance of our physical instructor and some other teachers we fixed the items. We started the celebration by hoisting the national flag. Immediately after this the march past took place and the Principal of our institute took the salute. Then they sang the national anthem. We also arranged a discussion meeting and a cultural function.
