"Water Pollution"

Water is a very important element of human environment. It is an essential element of nature because it saves all kinds of lives on earth. Clean water is healthful but polluted water is very harmful. Nowadays water pollution is one of the serious problems that humanity face. Water pollution refers to the contamination of water by filth, waste or other substances. It can be polluted in many ways. Water is polluted by using chemical fertilizers and various insecticides in the land when they are washed away by rain or flood . Mills and factories throw their waste products into rivers and canals and thus pollute water. Again motor launches, steamers pollute water by throwing oil , food waste and human waste. Another aspect is pollution of underground water by arsenic . By drinking this polluted water, we often get sick and may even die. So, we must prevent water pollution at any cost. Water can be purified by boiling it and using purifying tablets. All concerned must be conscious to keep water free from pollution. Govt. should take all, for a healthier and a happier life, massive awareness must be created against water pollution.


"Deforestation "

Deforestation means cutting down or destroying trees at random. Deforestation takes place as a result of population problem, excessive pressure on land. Population is increasing at a high rate. This additional people need more land for settlement and cultivation. Besides, some dishonest officers of forest department are also responsible for decreasing the percentage of trees and forests. The most serious deforestation is found in the tropical countries and in the coutries of the third world. However, the after-effects of deforestation are catastrophic in quality and many in number. Trees keep the balance of oxygen and carbon di - oxide in the atmosphere. When trees are cut down indiscriminately, the amount of carbon di - oxide increases. This causes global warming. As a result, the sea-level rises and it causes floods and other natural calamities. Moreover, wildlife is terribly affected. It disturbs the ecological balance. We should be conscious about the harmful effects of cutting trees. We should plant trees on both sides of roads and highways, and on waste land to prevent deforestation.

  'A VILLAGE DOCTOR'   Introduction : A village doctor is a most familiar figure in village. He renders a very valuable service to the the ill-fed, ill- td, ill-healthed and ill-housed village people.  His qualification : A village doctor is generally a quack. He now passes for a doctor after modern fashion. A village doctor works with a qualified doctor for few years and receive raining under him. Then he comes to his native village and begins practising as doctor.  His dispensary : A village doctor opens his dispensary either in the parlour of his house or in a room in the village market. He has in his dispensary a table, a chair, one or two almirah with a small stock of medicine and one or two benches for his patients. He does not take the service of a compounder. Paragraph~ "The Victory Day" & "Tree Plantation"

"The Victory Day" The 16th December is a red letter day in the history of Bangladesh. On this day, we won victory at the cost of a bloody battle of nine months . We celebrated the last 'Victory Day' in our institute very gorgeously. Our teachers cordially helped us in the arrangement. On the 15th December, we decorated every corner of the institute compound with green leaves, festoons and coloured papers. Adequate seating arrangements were made for the teachers and students. Under the guidance of our physical instructor and some other teachers we fixed the items. We started the celebration by hoisting the national flag. Immediately after this the march past took place and the Principal of our institute took the salute. Then they sang the national anthem. We also arranged a discussion meeting and a cultural function.
